Hj Ahamad Mohamad
Hj Ahamad Mohamad has been Managing Director of Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, a company listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange since 1991. He is Chief Executive of the Palm Oils Division of Johor Corporation and holds executive positions on the board of a number of other Malaysian healthcare, sporting, restaurant businesses and charitable enterprises. Ahamad graduated as a Bacheolor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Malaysia.
Antonio de Castro, Chairman
Antonio was the Chief Operating Officer of British American Tobacco ('BAT') prior to his retirement in December 2007, a constituent of the FTSE 100 index. In addition, Antonio is a director of Reynolds American Inc, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Non-Executive Chairman of Clean Energy Brazil PLC an AIM listed company which invests in integrated sugar and ethanol production units in Brazil, and a director of Merrill Lynch Latin American Investment Trust PLC. Antonio has a MBA from Babson College in the USA.
Nick Thompson, Chief Executive Officer
Nick joined the Company in 1984 after completing a Masters Degree in tropical agriculture
development. His progress through the Company included successfully managing the project
development at Kapiura and then the research station at Dami. From October 1991, he was both Senior
Manager of the Mosa group of plantations and Deputy Director Plantations. Nick was appointed
Managing Director in June 1994 after completing his MBA at Bath University, in the UK. Nick is also
Managing Director of EPA Management (Kulim Malaysia).
Alan Chaytor, Executive Director
Alan has been working with NBPOL since 1989 when the Company was a part of Harrisons &
Crosfield PLC. He went on to become the soft commodities director for Harrisons & Crosfield PLC
based in Singapore. Alan started Pacific Rim Plantation Services Pte Ltd in 1994, and lived in
Singapore until 2002. He [is] an active member in the trade and various palm oil associations and
bodies. A major and committed shareholder through his wholly owned company, Pacific Rim. Alan has
responsibility for sales and marketing and investor relations in the UK.
David Dann, Finance Director
David initially started working for the Company in 1987 as an accountant but left in 1990 to pursue other
interests. He re-joined the Company in 1995 as Financial Controller, was made Chief Financial Officer in
2001 and has been appointed Finance Director with effect from Admission. He has a degree in economics
with an accounting major from Monash University in Australia and is a Certified Practising Accountant in
both Australia and PNG. David also oversees the IT function.
Winifred Kamit, Independent Non-Executive Director
Winifred Kamit is a senior partner at Gadens Lawyers, the Australian and PNG law firm, where she has
worked as a corporate lawyer since 1988. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the
University of PNG, is a member of the PNG Law Society, a council member of the Institute of National
Affairs, the President of the Business Council of PNG and is the immediate past-president of the PNG
Institute of Directors, of which she was a founder member.
Tan Sri' Datuk Arshad Ayub, Non-Executive Director
Tan Sri' Datuk Arshad Ayub is an independent Non-Executive Director of Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, a company listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange since 1991. He had a distinguished career in the Malaysian Civil Service and held a number of senior positions including Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia (1975-77) and Secretary General in the Ministry of Primary Industries (1978), Ministry of Agriculture (1979-1981) and Ministry of Land and Regional Development (1981-1983). Tan Sri' Datuk Arshad Ayub is a non-executive director of a number of companies and sits on a number of trade bodies. He is the Chairman of the Board of the University of Malaya and a member of the Cooperative College Council. Tan Sri' Datuk Arshad Ayub holds degrees from Serdang Agricultural College, Malaysia and the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK.
Michael St. Clair-George, Independent Non-Executive Director
Michael St.Clair-George has over 30 years' experience in the plantation and agribusiness industries.
Michael served as the financial controller and finance director of Harrisons Malaysian Plantations Bhd
before being appointed managing director of P.T. Tolan, an Indonesian agribusiness. In 1996, Michael
was appointed managing director of P.T. Tolan's parent company, S.A. Sipef N.V., the Euronext quoted
Belgian agro-industrial company with interests in Indonesia, PNG Vietnam, Benelux and Brazil.
Michael is a qualified accountant and is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and Malay.
Sir Joseph Tauvasa, Independent Non-Executive Director
Sir Joseph comes from West New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea. Sir Joseph
held directorships in many companies in Papua New Guinea. He is the current
Chairman of South Pacific Brewery Limited. He was a former Chairman of Air
Niugini and a former director of Westpac Bank PNG Limited and Lihir Gold
Limited. He also served as President of the Institute of National Affairs,
President of the PNG Australia Business Council and Chairman of the National
Airline Commission. |
